1. Acceptance of these terms
By downloading, installing, or using ChoreChart Family, you (as the parent or guardian setting up the app) agree to these Terms of Use and to the in-app Privacy Policy and Legal Disclaimer, which you're also asked to accept during setup. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
2. Free and Premium tiers
ChoreChart Family is free to download and use. The free tier includes core chore tracking, points, pocket money and savings, photo verification and approvals, the parent PIN, ADHD/step-by-step mode, achievements and rewards, local point suggestions, kiosk/Family Board mode, to-dos, shopping lists, pets, the weekly report, the family calendar and weather, everyday recipe search, data export/backup, and up to 2 children.
ChoreChart Family Premium is an optional paid upgrade that adds: adding more than 2 children, AI meal generation beyond your free lifetime allowance, AI-assisted chore and points redistribution, auto-generating a full week's meal plan with AI, and iCloud sync of your family's data across your own devices. If Premium later lapses, any children or data your family already has stay fully visible and usable — the free-tier limit only ever blocks adding something new above it.
3. Subscriptions and purchases
ChoreChart Family Premium is offered as an auto-renewing annual subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase, both sold and billed through Apple's App Store. All purchases are processed entirely by Apple — ChoreChart Family and Goodfield Studio never receive or see your payment card or Apple ID account details.
The annual subscription automatically renews for the same term unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period; your Apple ID account is charged for renewal within that window. Subscriptions cannot be cancelled from within ChoreChart Family — manage or cancel one any time via your device's Settings app → [your name] → Subscriptions, since Apple manages all billing and cancellation.
The lifetime option is a one-time, non-consumable purchase, not a subscription. It does not renew or expire, and there is nothing further to cancel once purchased.
Prices and what's included in each tier may change over time. Changes never take away access or data a family already has.
4. Restoring purchases
A purchase made on one device is available on every device signed into the same Apple Account. A "Restore Purchases" option is available on the purchase screen if a device doesn't already show your active Premium entitlement.
5. No warranty, use at your own risk
ChoreChart Family is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent the law allows. Chore suggestions, AI-generated content, recipes, nutrition information and weather forecasts are aids only — parents and guardians remain solely responsible for what's appropriate, safe and accurate for their own family, especially around allergies, dietary needs and any physical task a child performs. 6. Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law.
7. Third-party services
ChoreChart Family integrates optional third-party services, including Google Firebase, Google Gemini AI, Spoonacular and RevenueCat (for Premium purchases). We don't control and aren't responsible for the availability or accuracy of these services; each operates under its own terms and privacy policy.
8. Children and family use
ChoreChart Family is set up and managed by a parent or guardian. Children don't create their own online accounts, and there's no chat, social sharing, or advertising in the app.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example as features change. We'll update the date at the top of this page when that happens. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Australia, and any disputes will be handled in the courts of Australia.
